Justin plans to resign from Nullsoft
Justin Frankel, the creator of WinAmp,
plans to resign from AOL because AOL keeps stomping on his projects.
Let's see where his biggest mistakes are:
- Sold Nullsoft to AOL.
- Wrote a crappy Gnutella client which was bound to piss off AOL. It did.
- Wrote WASTE, a crappy IM client, which was bound to piss of AOL. It did.
Justin and his irreverent team has gotten a free ride for the longest time, doing whatever they felt like, whether or not anything they did was going to make any money. And now he feels stifled? Well, DUH! Dumbshit!
I guess the .com years end later for some than others.
