RIAA and MPAA handed a defeat
Its a good day for file traders -- a federal judge in LA handed down a stinging defeat to the RIAA and MPAA in the Streamcast Networks and Grokster lawsuit.
Judge Stephen Wilson ruled that Streamcast--parent of the Morpheus software--and Grokster were not liable for copyright infringements that took place using their software.
I'm curious to see how this will affect the lawsuit against Hummer & Winblad and Hank Barry. Regardless of that outcome, this defeat is an important step.
